At the 13th IPTA (International Pediatric Transplant Association) meeting in Berlin, Prof. Saeed Akhter, Chairman of PKLI & JMCRC, presented research that showcased the institute’s exceptional data and clinical outcomes. He emphasized that PKLI not only matches but in many respects exceeds the data quality of many Western institutions.
Prof. Akhter asserted that performing a high volume of high-quality cases alone does not fulfil PKLI’s mission. Instead, he called upon all health institutions in Pakistan to systematically capture, analyze, and present their outcomes internationally. He believes this is essential if PKLI—and by extension Pakistan—is to gain recognition on the global medical map and restore its dignity.
This declaration marks one of the foundational purposes of PKLI: to place Pakistan at the forefront of transplant medicine, research, and patient care by marrying clinical excellence with robust data and international presence.
