𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 (𝐏𝐊𝐈) has signed a MoU with 𝐀𝐥𝐊𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 to jointly launch a flood relief campaign, with the support of 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 (𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐬-𝐔𝐒𝐀). The formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Pakistan Kidney Institute office, located within Pakistan Air Force Hospital, Islamabad.

The MoU was signed by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐚𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞, and 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐇𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐳 𝐔𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐊𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧, who reaffirmed their shared commitment to alleviating the suffering of flood-affected communities across Pakistan.

During the ceremony, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐚𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 also presented a cheque of 𝐑𝐬. 𝟎𝟖 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐑𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝟖𝟎 𝐋𝐚𝐜) to 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐇𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐳 𝐔𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧 as an initial contribution from PKI towards the flood relief campaign. This contribution will support the provision of emergency medical care, food supplies, clean drinking water, and other essential relief services for families devastated by the floods.

Speaking on the occasion, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐚𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐊𝐈, emphasized PKI’s mission of serving humanity beyond healthcare:

“Pakistan Kidney Institute has always been at the forefront during natural disasters since its inception in 2004 — whether the earthquake in Pakistan in 2005, the tsunami in Indonesia in 2006, rescue and relief efforts in Haiti in 2010, flood relief operations across Pakistan from 2010 to 2022, or the earthquake in Türkiye in 2023. PKI has consistently remained committed to providing hope and healing in times of crisis.

In this hour of national emergency, we are honored to join hands with AlKhidmat Foundation and Souls-USA to extend support to those who have lost their homes, livelihoods, and loved ones due to the floods. Together, we can make a real difference in rebuilding lives.”

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐇𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐳 𝐔𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐊𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, welcomed the collaboration and appreciated PKI’s support:

This collaboration is expected to significantly strengthen ongoing relief efforts by bringing together the humanitarian outreach of Pakistan Kidney Institute (PKI) with the nationwide network and extensive relief experience of AlKhidmat Foundation Pakistan. By pooling resources, knowledge, and organizational strengths, the partnership will ensure that aid reaches the most vulnerable families in a timely and effective manner.

Beyond immediate relief in the form of medical assistance, food, shelter, and clean water, this joint initiative aspires to contribute towards long-term rehabilitation and recovery of flood-affected communities.
