The Pakistan Kidney Institute, Department of Urology and Transplant Surgery PAF hospital in collaboration with the PAUS Rawalpindi / Islamabad Chapter organized a highly anticipated Pre-Conference Workshop on Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS) the Annual Urocon 2024. The event took place at PGMI Conference Hall PAF Hospital Unit-II Islamabad On December 12, 2024, gathering renowned urologists and medical professionals from Pakistan & abroad.

Workshop Agenda and Key Highlights:
The focus of the workshop was on Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS), specifically introducing the use of the 6.3 FR Double Channel Flexible Ureterorenoscope. This advanced technique promises to enhance the precision and outcomes of urological surgeries, especially for patients with renal stones or other related conditions.

The event was expertly organized by Prof. Saeed Akhter, Consultant Urologist & Transplant Surgeon at PAF Hospital Islamabad, and *Air Cdr (R) Raja Viqar Ali.

The surgical team comprised distinguished professionals including:
• Dr. Aasem Masood Chaudhary, Consultant Urologist, Bradford Hospital, UK
• Dr. Muhammad Imran Jamil, Consultant Urologist & Transplant Surgeon at PAF Hospital Islamabad

o The session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a reflective tone for the event, followed by National anthem of Pakistan.

o The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Durre Shohab Consultant Urologist & Transplant Surgery who warmly greeted the attendees and highlighted the significance of RIRS in modern urology.

2. Lecture on RIRS by Dr. Aasem Masood Chaudhary:

o Dr. Aasem Masood Chaudhary, a highly respected expert in the field, gave an insightful lecture on the latest developments in Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS), providing both theoretical knowledge and practical applications of the 6.3 FR Flexible Ureterorenoscope.

3. Experience Sharing by Air Cdr (R) Raja Viqar Ali:

o Air Cdr (R) Raja Viqar Ali shared his valuable experience of himself, as he recently underwent for RIRS at PAF Hospital Islamabad.

4. Live Surgery Demonstration:

o A live surgery session was conducted, broadcasted from the operation theatre directly to the PGMI Conference Hall, PAF Hospital. This allowed the attendees to observe the procedure in real-time, providing a unique learning opportunity.
