PKI Distributed 500 Food Packages in Flood affectees in 1st phase of the activities of flood relief drive 2022 in Rajanpur. PKI ground team in Rajanpur Including Dr. Ayub Malik, Dr. Khalil Ur Rehman, Dr. Karim Baksh and other stakeholders e.g PAF Fareed Air-Base team participated in distribution of food packages amongst flood affectees.

Prof. Saeed Akhter, President PKI thanked all the donors & APPNA (Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America). Paid tribute to Pakistan Air-Force for providing logistic support to PKI. He appreciated all the volunteers / workers to making this program successful. May Allah SWT accept all the efforts of us all to serve the humanity in these testing times.

Prof. Saeed Akhter chaired PKI BOG meeting at PAF Hospital Islamabad on Sep 06, 2022. PKI BOG Members attended the meeting. Dr. Syed Nayer Mahmud, Vice President PKI joined the meeting through video link.

Purpose of this meeting was to discuss the PKI Flood relief drive. BOG Members unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Muhammad Imran Jamil as CEO of Pakistan Kidney Insitute (PKI). Prof. Saeed Akhter briefed the BOG members PKI always for fronted in past natural calamities in Pakistan & abroad. Once again Pakistan hit by worst flood in the history of its inception. He also added that we as a nation need to stand up for the cause to help our Pakistani Sisters & Brothers in these difficult times. BOG endorsed the steps taken by PKI in flood relief drive.

Prof. Saeed Akhter & PKI Team met with Chaudhary Muhammad Tahir, Founder & Chairman Punjab Cash & Carry in Islamabad to finalize the purchase of food items for flood affectees, as PKI sending its first batch of 500 bags of food & other necessities to Rajanpur.

Dr. Durre Shohab & Dr. Behzad Khan Khalil were also accompanied the President PKI. Chaudhary Muhammad Tahir pledged for donation to PKI flood relief drive. PKI management thanked him for his generosity.

Air Commodore Abdullah Farooq, Pakistan Air-Force called on Prof. Saeed Akhter at PAF Hospital Islamabad. Purpose of this meeting was to discuss logistics support by Pakistan Air-Force to PKI to help the flood affectees in Pakistan.

Prof. Saeed Akhter shared PKI’s history with Air Commodore Abdullah Farooq. Prof. Saeed Akhter said that PKI not only helping poor people by giving state of the art medical facilities in the field of Urology, but PKI always forefront to cater the natural calamities in Pakistan & abroad. Once again PKI helping the flood victims in Rajanpur with the collaboration of Pakistan Air-Force & APPNA (Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America). Air Cdre Abdullah Farooq showed full support to PKI in this noble mission.

Prof. Saeed Akhter President PKI Chaired a meeting at PAF Hospital Islamabad to oversee the preparations of flood relief activities.

PKI Executive Flood Relief Committee, Business Community & PKI Team were the participants. Air-Marshal ® Iqbal participated in meeting online through zoom. Prof. Saeed Akhter discussed ongoing preparations of Flood Relief activity and urged the team to make the preparations quickly so we could send our first team to flood affected area to help our brethren in these testing times.

Prof. Saeed Akhter Visited Fazaia College of Medicine Air University Islamabad dated Sep 01, 2022 for awareness drive to help Flood affectees in Pakistan.

Students & Staff of Fazaia College attended the session. PKI team Including Dr. Javeria Hayat Khan, Dr. Behzad Khan Khalil, Mr. Muhammad Adnan Qureshi & Mr. Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti were also present. Prof. Saeed Akhter highlighted the current flood situation in Pakistan. He shared his experience of his recent visit of Rajanpur which is highly affected by the flood. He said these are unprecedented times as this year the destruction of rains and floods were more than any flood in Pakistan’s history. Millions of our brethren have come under the open sky, where they desperately need our compassion and help. We as a nation stand up to this task to work for the flood affected people. He added that our little contribution can make huge difference in these difficult times. He encouraged the students to come forward as volunteer to work with PKI flood relief drive. Question / Answer session was also part of the event.

PAKISTAN KIDNEY INSTITUTE ORGANIZED AN EVENT IN PAKISTAN AIR-FORCE HOSPITAL ISLAMABAD DATED AUGUST 29, 2022 TO CREATE AWARENESS AND TO MOBILIZE THE PUBLIC TO HELP THEIR FELLOW COUNTRYMEN WHO ARE SUFFERING TERRIBLY FROM THE WORST FLOODS OF PAKISTAN SINCE ITS INCEPTION. EVENT WAS ATTENDED BY BUSINESS COMMUNITY, PAKISTAN AIR-FORCE HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION, MEDICAL FACULTY & PKI TEAM.

Prof. Saeed Akhter gave a presentation about his recent visit of Rajanpur, South Punjab which is one of the worst hit district from recent floods. He described that flood has affected a large number of people and completely devastated agricultural land and drowned livestock. People including, pregnant women & children are walking in waist high water from 8 to 10 miles towards roads for some hope in their eyes to get food to eat and water to drink. He emphasized on need of quick and prompt actions to help the ailing humanity before it gets too late. He also met with Deputy Commissioner Rajanpur of Local Administration and different stakeholders in his visit. Prof. Saeed Akhter said that PKI, Pakistan Air-Force & APPNA (Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America) are starting the relief mission in Rajanpur aiming providing food, Shelter and Medication to affected population. He requested all to join hands in this noble mission with Pakistan Kidney Institute. Question/Answers session was also part of the event. Business community pledged to donate and showed their full support for this noble cause.

Business Community & Volunteers at PAF Hospital Islamabad to sought suggestions and inputs to execute PKI flood relief drive in Rajanpur, South Punjab. Prof. Saeed Akhter President PKI, visited Rajanpur to see flood situation on ground.

Dr. Athar Khawaja, Dr. Ayub Malik, Dr. Asad Malik & Dr. Khalil were also part of the delegation. He met with Deputy Commissioner Rajanpur, stakeholders & other local administration. He visited various areas and found flood affected people in miserable condition. He said magnitude of this flood is worst in Pakistan’s history, and as a nation we need to stand up for helping the humanity in these testing times.

Prof. Saeed Akhter presided a meeting with PKI team dated 26-08-2022 at PAF Hospital Islamabad. Agenda of this meeting was to discuss current flood situation in Pakistan and to how PKI can help our Pakistani brethren in this difficult time.

Later on Prof. Saeed Akhter met with Pakistan Air-Force officials along-with Air Marshal ( R ) Iqbal to invite them to join PKI in this noble mission. Pakistan Air-Force officials warmly accepted the offer and it was decided in the meeting that PKI will launch the flood relief drive in collaboration with Pakistan Air-Force & APPNA (Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America). Pakistan Air-Force will provide logistic support & transportation.

In this recent COVID-19 Pandemic, Pakistan Kidney Institute is still actively treating the poor kidney patients at PAF Hospital. In the past 6 months, a total number of 180 patients have been treated including 56 major surgeries which include complex cancer surgeries and 4 renal transplants.
