He highlighted Pakistan's commitment to eliminate Hepatitis C from the world's fifth most populous nation, where nearly 10 million people are affected by this liver infection. As he quoted, "Egypt as a transcontinental nation that is about to file its elimination status with World Health Organization after concerted efforts."
Pakistan kickstarted a nationwide campaign against Hepatitis, beginning in Punjab and extending its reach across the entire nation. Prof. Saeed Akhtar emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the Hepatitis C elimination campaign, with the ultimate goal of eradicating this disease from Pakistan by 2030.
